An El Paso native, Dr. Guy Johnsen graduated from Burges High School, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at El Paso and received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Johnsen was honored with the Texas Veterinary Medical Association's "President Award" in 1996, "Companion Animal Practioner of the Year Award" in 1998, "Public Relations Award" in 2003, and the El Paso Veterinary Medical Association Community Involvement Award in 2006. He maintains strong interests in internal medicine with an emphasis on infectious disease and cardiology.

Dr. Deborah A. Nelson (Associate Veterinarian)
After living throughout the United States and Germany as the daughter of an Army family, Dr. Nelson settled in El Paso in 1983. She had formerly completed her undergraduate studies in 1972 at The University of Houston, and continued her education in graduate school at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. She has been active in the El Paso community through Animal Rescue League of El Paso, as well as finding forever homes for thousands of homeless animals through her practice at Fairbanks Animal Hospital.
